the art of alcohol consumption

Its morning like this morning that really make you regret that 5th (or 12th) pint, the glass of wine thrown in for good measure, the odd sambuca, followed by the stomach curdling tequila rose, today I woke at around 6am with excruciating head pains (I suffer with them anyway) but topped with the need/urge to throw up and the strongest desire to fall back to sleep and wake up better followed by the realisation that all I was feeling is in actual fact my own fault. Oh alcohol and here was me thinking we were friends!

A night on the town often tells you a lot and usually for my group of friends tells you a lot more than you need to know. So we've just come in and sipping a glass of wine playing the standard game of i have never. This evening is going to be eventful!!

A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.

Saturday (well Sunday actually)

Again I am fully aware that this has gone past the 12am cut off point for my quote a day, however I've just got home from work do technically I'm still in my day!

I work very unsociable hours in a pub, and tonight was just one of those shifts where you were counting down the minutes!

Tonight started off fairly quite then got very busy very quickly a few fights and an accidental punch in the jaw from a customer whilst trying to help him out of the fight just topped it off.

So now to sleep to forget this horrible day <3

Friday 23rd March 12:25pm xoxo

I woke up feeling ready to face the world today, I had a very productive evening last night, sorted out my finances (still relying on willpower however not to shop and then hide when the bills are due)
Then spent three hours sorting my room out, ended up with 4 bin bags full of clothes and random objects I seem to have hoarded over the past few years. I decided unless I use it at least once a week, or wear it often it was getting thrown away. No more clinging on to things which have apparent sentimental value or remind me of a good time. It's time to create new memories not cling to old ones.

So anyway back to today, up nice and early (ish) sorted out lots of paperwork and more random belongings I seem to own and now ready for a lovely 3close at work, which touch wood won't be any later than 2/2.30 am. This girl needs her beauty sleep!!

buggar

Only just realised the time, i'm only on the third day and i've missed a deadline already, story of my life!!

However seeing as i got up this morning for work at half four and haven't actually been to sleep yet we could argue that i haven't missed the day just run a little over time.

So to fit in with all of this madness...

How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?
Dr. Seuss

That's all for today, no stories, or distant memories relived, too tired for all that. My bed has missed me dearly.

So for now I say Adieu.

a few pictures from this evening <3

nature vs sanity

After getting home a little earlier than I had originally anticipated, i quickly got changed out of my work uniform and went for a wander on the beach. The sand was freezing and yet i couldn't control myself the feet went in and buried deeper down. Something about the sand both intrigues and repulses me, let me explain; it gets lodged in awkward places, it feels either odd or quite enjoyable beneath your feet depending on the temperature, one day later you still find a sand trail in the shower (maybe that's just me?!) , and yet here i am in the freezing cold with my toes happily concealed in the floor. Today sand you have been my friend. I perched for a while, simply taking in the surroundings, i watched families running up and down the sand, dogs digging, everyone splashing in the water, the sunset reflecting on the sea, the waves crashing against the rocks, and for a moment i felt content.
Moments like this i wish i could capture forever, a sense of serenity with nature idly going about its business around me. I feel taking a leaf out of natures book would prove beneficial, a sense of doing whatever i feel like at the time, however i doubt this would always work out, so instead i shall use moments like this to clear my head of built up rubbish and to simply think.

if only it weren't true...

Quote 1

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Start as you mean to go on

Tuesday March 20th 2012 20:46

I often find myself in moments of reflection on life so far, its safe to say its had its up and downs, moments id rather forget and moments i cling to for sanity.
To say I'm a normal girl would be false, but what is normal these days anyway?? Your normal may differentiate greatly from what i deem as normal, so i suppose the truth is i am neither normal or not normal.
I am me (whatever that is) with my imperfections and quirky characteristics being the main attraction.
I have always been the class clown, the one with confidence. When I was younger my sister and I would go to the park and even though she is 3 years older, it would be me introducing us to other children and coming up with games to pass the time between end of school and tea time. It was me who spent the majority of school outside the classroom, usually slumped up against the wall after being kicked out (not literally, however more amusing that would have been) or occasionally sent outside the head teachers office, with the look of innocence on my face and the perfectly memorised speech declaring that in fact it had all been a complete misunderstanding and to punish me with after school detention would be completely unjust. I had learnt the art of pretending, I could hide my troublesome activities with a look of confusion and regret plastered over my face, just as I could mask my sorrow with a smile and a joke. In fact what people do not know about me is that confident nature that has always been me is just another thing I have mastered pretending to be.

So as previously mentioned I am embarking on a task, I am going to post a quote a day for the next year, all these quotes are going to be relevant to me, be it past present or future. No more hiding behind that fake smile and ability to make friends, it is a quest to find me, to understand how i tick and to stop these moments of reflection in to life so far, stop myself clinging to moments i cannot relive, but to instead relish each day as a new beginning, and to look forward.

Carpe Diem xoxo

A quote a day

From this day to this day next year, I intend to post a quote a day.
Something that is true to me, be it in the moment or in memories.

Pictures to illustrate and amuse, anecdotes to keep fresh.

A collection to freeze time for one year only.

And so it begins xoxo

Disney girls...

Sleeping Beauty is rendered into a coma and wakes up with a perfect do.

Ariel swims underwater yet her hair is left untouched.

Cinderella does the chores all day and still looks well kept.

I'm sure by now you get the idea.

So you can imagine my dismay at having to straighten, curl, brush, comb and hairspray before being fit to leave the house. Walt Disney I fear you may have mislead millions of girls and millions of boys come to think of it, a suitable and presentable hair style takes time none of this rolling out of bed and I'm done look.

So boys next time you moan that your fair lady is taking a while to perfect her hair set aside the Disney ideology and be patient xoxo
